Buenos Aires, Dec 10 (NA) – The Undersecretariat for Agro-Forestry Production of the Ministry of Economy has awarded the 'Argentine Bioproduct' Certificate to five scientific developments carried out by national universities, INTA, and CONICET, under a program that distinguishes bio-based products.
The certificates, in the 'Research' category, were granted for projects that include:
• Smart labels made from yerba mate waste. • Construction panels based on mycelium and cardboard. • pH sensors for food. • Plates manufactured from peanut shells. • Films produced from residual brewer's yeast.
According to the Argentine News Agency, the National University of Quilmes received two certificates for developments from its LOMCEM Laboratory, while the Experimental Center for Economic Housing (CEVE/CONICET), the National Technological University in conjunction with INTA, and the Villa María Research and Transfer Center received the remaining distinctions.
The distinguished products have bio-based contents ranging from 83% to 100%, indicating they come primarily from renewable raw materials.
The certification does not imply authorization for commercial sale, which must be separately processed with the relevant authorities.
